Project scope and definition

  • Our Projet's Definition and Scope:https://sandy-postbox.glitch.me/
  • Our Wireframe and Mockup

This website was conceived by five Business graduates who strive to offer a brand new service to elderly people seeking for a home satisfying all their wants and needs. ... The HouSenior team is full of fresh minds hoping to accomplish a life changing application for seniors looking for their perfect homes. After noticing that most realtors and other similar service providers still go by old searching options and proceedures, and still stick to very conventional house searching activities with general research standards, our team of entrepreneurs came up with a creative and innovative idea! Taking into consideration the perticular needs of seniors when looking for a house, they developped a house matching app with brand new searching standards and proceedures which will be more effective and convinient for the senior's house hunting activities. In a common realtor's website, very traditional research standards do not enable a complet customization for the client, and it is rather the client that will have to adapt their needs regarding the goods available on the market or shown by the realtors. This project, in contrary, gives the possibility to seniors to choose according to their standards, needs and liking THE house that will fit them perfectly! The HouSenior Website and services are meant for seniors, 60 years old or above, that strives to find a new place that would suit their physical and emotional needs.

The idea most of all originates from the desire to improve the moving out processes and experience for elderly people in a way only webservices can. This very first idea led to the development of two distinct projects: HouSenior and another one called Movers&You. Movers&You and HouSenior have in common the desire to be a senior-friendly interface web-based site with easy and relevent features.

A Glitch project that defined the projects' ambitions was therefore created: HouSenior was first presented as a website using a "brand new algorithm created after many years of studying what seniors need and want" in order to find "their perfect appartement!". HouSenior is involved in making one's life easier, and we strive to provide you with the best experience and the highest quality of service. Movers&You focused more on another stage of the moving out process and was meant to be a collaborative platform to help seniors and their relatives organize the moving out's logistical aspects'.
As the two options were deeply studied and reflected upon, it was decided that HouSenior would be retained by the team as the main project they would develop and market. The Figma wireframe that was made was greatly inspired by websites such as the "French Leboncoin" and platforms like "Airbnb". HouSenior teams worked especially hard to have a website that would remain simple for seniors to navigate through when many aren't used to technology. The mockup page for the apartment/house search is based on the same ranking system as "Leboncoin"- from the most accurate result to the least.

The final landing page is meant to keep this very easy coming appearance. Our team of developpers tried to make the company's principal features stand out: it is a big and new leap in the silver economy and can be used by anyone.

How we learned and compiled knowlegde

In order to proceed with the creation of our website, a deeper understanding of what coding is all about and how it works was crucial. Each team member strived to develop competences in the coding dimension of our business, and thanks to numerous sources of information, tutorials, websites and our online courses, our business concept became a concrete web-based service! Here are some of the most used sources of knowledge and knowhow we have used to create our landing webpage and previous works.

For comparision with what already exists on the market

When studying our market, our clients and our service, we obviously came into the presence of our potential and direct competitiors on the market. We understood that being able to offer a diffirenciated product with a bigger added value for the client would be key to our success on the market. Hence, we carefully analysed our competitor's offers and services to finally compare our own round service to strive for the best competitive advantage. We decided to compare our website to theirs to graps and understand how to create an effective and impactful website that attracts and retains customers during the entire user journey.

    As a Source of inspiration...

As we strived to keep the codes and the guidelines that provide good applications that are appreciated by the grand public, we decided to study and implement types of coding structures and techiques used by very well known companies. Leboncoin helped us in designing and creating a web page that gives more importance to the degree of compatibility between a good and a client, based on multiple and precise criteria entrered before hand within the website search fields.
Airbnb was also a very good source of inspariration for the design of our application's flow and easyness while using it. We simplified even furthur the application so that nobody will feel lost while using our web service.

    Tools and Technologies

In order to efficiently code our website, we used several tools and sources. Thanks to them, we were able to correctly design and put together an appealing and easy web site destined to our main target population; Seniors. We managed to find sources for codes, for fonts, images, designs ... Golden sources for our designing and coding teams that are quite young and still growing along with our project!
